Shelby Co. Ordinance 360 Falls – Why the Weakening of Term Limits Failed

The voters of Shelby County voted No on Ordinance #360, and thereby returned the failed and poorly constructed ordinance aimed at weakening term limits back to the Shelby County Board of Commissioners.

A simple fix to the legal defect in the current charter is now in order, and should be presented to the citizens of Shelby County without haste. Citizens are entitled to such a fix.

Commissioners should leave the horse trading outside the room when presenting future ordinances to the public, and cease the bundling-like tactics used in Washington D.C.
